Tudor is built.
1887
Architect: S.J.F. Thayer. Designed in the Queen Anne style, The Tudor is located on the former site of the Frederic Tudor House at 34 1/2 Beacon Street. Construction of the nine-story apartment hotel leads to the imposition of new height limits on buildings in the neighborhood. The building is purchased as headquarters of the Family Service Association of Greater Boston in 1957. The building is converted to condominiums in 1999.
